Dickey James & the Blue Flames

The band is made up of five accomplished players who collectively have nearly 200 yrs experience. Despite the fact that they'rs not kids this band ROCKS! Dickey James is the lead guitar player, vocalist, and main writer. Dick has played in several touring blues and rock bands, and has opened for Cheap Trick, Survivor, and Koko Taylor. Bob Freeze blows a mean harmonica, John Beeson plays the Hammond organ and provides some sweet vocal harmonies. Mark Ford is the band's bass player, and Wil Cox is our drummer. Marie has been performing at festivals (charitable benefit shows, nursing homes, schools, and basically for anyone who that would listen to her), and competing in contests in four different states since she was 7 years old.  She has placed or won contests in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Illinois, including back to back championships in Illinois in 2006 and 2007.  Marie has performed with several nationally recognized bands, including James King and Grammy Award winner Ralph Stanley.  Marie loves performing and brings a contagious energy to the stage with her playing and singing.  Her original fiddle instructor referred to her as “little miss intensity.”  Marie was also recently mentioned and pictured in the documentary book, “Images of America, Kentucky’s Blue Grass Music,” written and compiled by James Claypool.  Several years ago while performing as a weeklong guest at the Tunes and Tales program in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Marie was introduced to the music of Mountain Heart and Jim VanCleve’s creatively intense fiddle style.  She was immediately hooked and, after meeting Jim several times post Mountain Heart shows and participating in one of his workshops, Jim agreed to produce her first cd, “Listen to My Heart,” which was released in October, 2010.  The cd was referred to as a “minor masterpiece” by the editors of the internationally published periodical, Bluegrass Unlimited.  Marie is a Marshall native and began her first year at Marshall High School this year.

Tim Sanders has been providing DJ services for weddings and special events for over twelve years. Tim has worked at local stations such as WMMC 105.9, 104.3 th e party, 101.3 WMCI, 89.9 the max, and a reporter for WTWO News. To help better his education he majored in broadcasting at Lake Land College. Tim is experienced in servicing any type of event and is easy to work with, making events fun and enjoyable for everyone. He is currently Promotions Director and Sales at WTWO-NBC, WAWV-ABC, and mywabashvalley.com
  

Tammy Lowe

Once again, Tammy Lowe will be on-hand to entertain folks attending the Marshall Autumn Fest on Saturday, September 17, 2011, beginning at 5:30 p.m.  This is Tammy’s 12th year entertaining at the festival, and she brings an hour packed with her favorite country tunes for you to enjoy.  She also may throw in a few rock or oldies tunes just to keep the listeners guessing on what she’ll do next!  Her vocals have been described as “phenomenal”, and she has tremendous power and control as well as a significant vocal range.  Her favorite artists include Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Sugarland, and Gretchen Wilson just to name a few. 
Tammy started singing in church when she was a youngster, then performed throughout high school with a Youth for Christ / Campus Life singing group called New Covenant located in Marshall, IL (1982-1984).  During a night out on the town with her husband in 1992, she rediscovered her love for singing in a karaoke nightclub.  “It was like an old friend and I had caught up with each other!” she explains.  Since returning to the Wabash Valley, she sang for a few years with Pix & Stix Band as the female lead singer, currently sings with her daughter, Jessica, at local establishments using tracked music, and also performs with her friend, Lonnie Bedwell (also previously of the Pix & Stix Band), in an acoustic duo called Lowe Down.  For booking information, please contact Tammy at tammysings@aol.com or call (217) 251-0150.

Hi! My name is Mary-Kate Doffin and I just turned 14 years old. I can’t wait to sing and play my guitar at the Marshall Autumn Fest for the first time. One of the other things I enjoy doing is Cantoring for Mass at St. Mary’s church in Marshall. Also I love gymnastics and being a cheerleader for Marshall junior high football and basketball. Gary Peak , local Marshall resident . Gary has entertained audiences the past several years with his amazing vocals ranging from country music to pop. Gary's many talents include racing motocross and cars. Gary has sang for weddings, charities, fall festivals, and has performed on cruise liners and at Loretta Lynns Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills Tenn. Gary is the president of G& S Asphalt, kc. a company he founded 35 Years ago.  

"IN-D" Band

IN-D is an acoustic rock band that combines the best of folk, rock, pop and country while entertaining audiences of all ages with sincerity, energy and power.  The unique style Dana Dowell of Indianapolis IN. brings to each song is refreshing and defiantly different but not out of touch with the original artist’s intent.  Her interpretation of songs sets IN-D apart from other cover bands. 

IN-D  consists of Dana Dowell, vocalist and guitar, Dan Postlewait on bass, cello and guitar, Reggie Raisner on lead guitar and vocals and Jeff Randall on the drums, percussion and vocals. Together with many years experience writing and producing original songs the band feeds off Dana’s lead giving each song a new sound to match her version of tunes from bands such as Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, Lucinda Williams, Janice Joplin and many, many more.

Michael B. Jordan (not of basketball fame), has played guitar since age 19 and composes and records music in his free time when not welding to pay the bills.
Nichole Wright is a Graphic Arts major at ISU.  Nichole sings, plays flute, guitar and a mean bass that will make you tap your toes!
Brent Brannon will graduate from ISU this spring with a Graphic Design & Art History Degree and races Formula 100 go-karts in his spare time.  Brent plays saxophone, guitar and has pounded the drum skins for over 13 yrs.
Holden Lindsay has been a member of the Phoenix family for many years and uses his love of music to help mix the sound for the band.
